A single electric discharge device serves both towers, so the capacity doubles without a second set of drives and controls. That is a better cost per tonne stored than two separate towers, and one system to maintain instead of two.

Material can be presented at the side or at the back of the warehouse, so it can sit between two machines and serve both, or against a wall and discharge into the aisle. That flexibility usually decides where it can physically go.

Thirteen floors in each tower means a shop can hold every grade and thickness it runs, in quantity, and still know exactly what is there. At that point material availability stops being what limits the cutting schedule.

The system detects weight automatically on storage and retrieval, so stock levels come from the machine rather than from someone remembering to write it down. On two towers of material that is the only way it stays accurate.

The towers share the same construction and controls as the single-tower system, so a shop can start with one and add the second when volume justifies it rather than buying capacity it does not yet need.

The system runs a warehouse management system (WMS) and a warehouse control system (WCS), so the warehouse knows what it is holding rather than just where it put it. Every item is barcoded, and the WMS shows a live view with what sits in each bin, its specification, quantity and the date it came in. Inbound and outbound are planned, stocktakes run scheduled or manual, and reports come out by grade, date or customer. Handheld terminals keep manual picking in step with the automated side, and the WMS connects to ERP, MES or MOM so your stock figures match the rest of the business.
