Daito GTAR Saw Beam Line
Saw-only beam line with the same programming and material handling as the CUD / GTR
The Daito GTAR is a saw-only beam line for structural steel work that needs cutting and mitring but no drilling. It combines Daito’s automatic double-mitre bandsaw with the same material handling and production programming as the CUD / GTR drilling and sawing line, without the drilling machine.
Cut lists are imported through DIS II as on a full beam line. Sections are fed by pinch rollers with measuring discs, cut to length and mitre, and cleared by the short-part discharger, giving beam-line automation for cut-only work at a lower investment than a drill line.
Key features
Automatic Double-Mitre Cutting
The saw frame rotates automatically for left and right mitre cuts, so opposing mitres are completed without turning the beam. Mitre angles are stored in the cutting program with each length.
6° Inclined Blade with Step-Feed Protection
The blade is inclined at 6° so it enters the section progressively, reducing cutting shock and vibration. Daito’s step-feed function relieves the blade when internal stresses begin to close the cut, reducing pinching and premature breakage.
Controlled Material Positioning
Infeed and outfeed pinch rollers move the section through the saw, with measuring discs tracking material travel. The programmed position is held for each cut while web and flange supports stabilise the material.
Automatic Offcut Handling
The short-piece discharger removes trim cuts and short offcuts while the line continues operating. The last-cut gripper supports the remaining material through the final cut and reduces manual clearing around the saw.
DIS II Programming and Nesting
DIS II reads CAD, DSTV and NC1 files exported directly from Tekla and other structural CAD packages, then optimises and nests cut lengths to reduce waste. Programs are prepared offline in the office or entered at the machine, and run without re-entering data at the saw.
Optional Lift-and-Carry Loading
Optional lift-and-carry loading systems transfer sections from the storage racks onto the infeed conveyor and feed them to the saw. The next lengths can be staged while the saw is cutting.
Optional Discharge and Unloading Tables
Optional discharge tables and cross transfers move finished parts off the outfeed conveyor to collection areas. Cut parts are cleared from the line without manual handling at the saw.

Why fabricators choose Daito
- Made in Japan. Daito-Seiki designs and builds its machines in Japan, and it shows in the machining, the fit and the electrical work.
- Reliability. Daito machines are built for continuous production, with long periods between faults and less unplanned downtime over the life of the machine.
- Straightforward to run. Operators are productive in days, not weeks. The control is simple and does what the job needs.
- Built around the operator. Design decisions are made for the person running the machine, not for the brochure.
