Daito DB500 Drill Saw Beam Line

Daito DB500 Drill Saw Beam Line

Three-spindle drilling and bandsaw cutting in one enclosed machine for sections to 500 x 300 mm

  • Capacity 500x300mm | 3 spindle drill | high-speed band saw

The Daito DB500 drills, taps, chamfers, scribes and band saw cuts steel sections in one enclosed machine. Three CNC drill heads work the top and both sides of the section, then the integrated bandsaw cuts to length, so parts come off finished without a separate drill or saw operation.

The DBM500 adds milling for slots and long holes. Both models measure material as it feeds, compensate hole positions for flange distortion, and can run unattended with optional loading, discharge and marking equipment.

Key features

Drill, Saw and Mill in One Machine

Three CNC drill heads and a 7.5 kW bandsaw share one enclosed frame, so sections are drilled, tapped, marked and cut to length in one pass. On the DBM500 the same heads also mill slots and long holes, with no separate drill line, saw or mill.

Three Drill Heads, 24 Tools

Top, left and right drill heads each carry an eight-position automatic tool changer, giving 24 tools across three faces of the section. Hole sizes, taps, chamfer tools and scribers change automatically, so mixed jobs run without stopping to swap tooling.

Profiles and Processes

One program drills, taps, chamfers and scribes H-beam to 500 x 300 mm, channel, angle, hollow section and flat bar. DBM500 spindles run to 1100 rpm at 7.5 kW for milling, against 800 rpm at 5.5 kW on the DB500.

Servo Ball-Screw Saw Feed

The saw frame is fed by a servo motor and ball screw on linear guides instead of hydraulics, so feed rate does not drift with oil temperature. The thin 41 mm blade is fully tensioned to cut small and thin-walled sections cleanly.

Flange Height Compensation

A flange height gauge measures where the flange actually sits and shifts hole positions to suit distorted material. Section width, height and length are measured automatically by the guide roller, yoke roller and carriage, so holes land where the drawing puts them.

Automatic Loading and Discharge

Optional chain loaders feed stock in, while the discharge conveyor and remnant sorter take finished parts and offcuts away, so the line runs unattended. Programs are prepared in the office with DAITO DIS II and sent to the machine by network or USB.

Why fabricators choose Daito

  • Made in Japan. Daito-Seiki designs and builds its machines in Japan, and it shows in the machining, the fit and the electrical work.
  • Reliability. Daito machines are built for continuous production, with long periods between faults and less unplanned downtime over the life of the machine.
  • Straightforward to run. Operators are productive in days, not weeks. The control is simple and does what the job needs.
  • Built around the operator. Design decisions are made for the person running the machine, not for the brochure.

Capacity for a specific section is confirmed with Daito at quotation. All tooling other than oil-hole drills and a bandsaw blade is optional and specified to the work. DIS II programming software is required and one licence is supplied with the machine. A transformer to suit Australian three-phase supply is supplied with the machine. An air supply of 0.6 MPa at 400 l/min is required and no compressor is included.
