The PGT Series is a fully enclosed fibre laser that processes flat sheet and tube on one machine. Three working areas from 3050 x 1530 mm to 6050 x 1530 mm at 1.5 to 12 kW, with a pneumatic chuck taking round tube from 15 to 230 mm and square tube to 230 x 230 mm.

It suits workshops where tube and section work is regular but does not justify a dedicated tube laser, keeping that work in-house on the same machine as sheet.

Key features

High-rigidity machine bed

Heavy-duty welded frame with high vibration resistance, carrying the gantry at up to 1.2 G acceleration. Positioning accuracy of 0.03 mm is held at full cutting speed.

Fully enclosed cutting chamber

The cutting area is fully enclosed, containing fume and laser radiation within the machine, with interlocked doors that stop the cycle if opened. Guarding is integral to the machine and meets Australian workplace safety requirements as supplied.

Fibre laser source, 1.5 to 40 kW

Fibre laser source specified from 1.5 to 20 kW on the PG3015T and to 40 kW on the PG4020T and PG6015T. Power is selected to the plate thickness in regular production; higher power reduces pierce and cut time on heavy plate.

Control system with flying cut and automatic nesting

The control system supports flying cutting and automatic nesting. Cycle time on perforated and multi-part sheets is reduced, and material utilisation is set by the software rather than the operator.

Sheet and tube on one machine

Flat sheet and tube or section are processed on the same machine under the same enclosure. Tube work is kept in-house without a dedicated tube laser or the floor space for a second machine.

Dual exchange tables

Two exchange tables allow one sheet to be loaded and unloaded while the other is being cut. Loading time is removed from the cutting cycle.

Large-diameter pneumatic chuck

Pneumatic chuck with single-action clamping, automatic centring and adjustable clamping force. Angle, channel and other open profiles are held without manual adjustment between sections.

Thermally stable bed construction

The bed frame incorporates mineral fire-resistant material to limit thermal deformation during cutting. Accuracy is maintained over extended shifts and the service life of the machine is extended.

Tube capacity is the same on all three models. Open profiles such as angle and channel are clamped in the same self-centring chuck.
