The Cosen C-510MNC and C-650MNC are fully automatic single-mitre horizontal bandsaws. The saw head swivels forward to 60 degrees on a precision pivot, and material is fed by a hydraulic index vice under Cosen's Smart NC-100 control, so a run of angle cuts is programmed by length and quantity and cut without the operator at the machine.

They suit structural fabricators and steel merchants cutting production quantities of angle, channel, tube and RHS to one mitre direction. Where opposing mitres are needed on the same bar, the double-mitre M5 and M8 or the SH-LDM machines apply.

Key features

Mitre to 60 degrees on a precision pivot

The saw head swivels forward from 0 to 60 degrees on a large pivot with the angle read from a protractor and pointer in clear view of the operator. Angle changes are set and repeated without a trial cut.

Quick angle lock

The head is locked at the set angle with a single long lever. An angle change on a mixed job takes seconds rather than a spanner and a re-check.

Slotted discharge table

The discharge table is slotted at the common cutting angles and drains coolant back to the tank. Cut pieces sit flat at any mitre angle and coolant is not carried off the machine on the parts.

Smart NC-100 control with Mitsubishi PLC

The 5.7 inch HMI stores up to 100 jobs by length and quantity, compensates kerf loss automatically and displays blade speed, blade life and error codes. A cut list is entered once and run unattended, and faults are read from the screen rather than traced.

Full stroke hydraulic front and index vice

Both the front vice and the index vice clamp through their full stroke under hydraulic control, so any material size in the capacity is held without repositioning a jaw. Size changes on a cut list take no time at the vice.

Hydraulic blade tension

Blade tension is set and held hydraulically and monitored for breakage. Tension is correct on every start and the machine stops before a slack blade damages the cut or the guides.

Carbide and bearing blade guides

Bearing guides align the blade ahead of the carbide inserts, and the right-hand guide arm is adjustable for stability at larger mitre angles. Cut squareness holds at 60 degrees where the unsupported blade span is longest.

C-650MNC scissor frame

The larger C-650MNC carries the saw head on a hydraulic cylinder with a ball joint and a 5.5 kW blade motor on a 41 mm blade, cutting 380 x 650 mm at 90 degrees and 380 x 400 mm at 45. Structural sections that exceed the C-510MNC are cut on the same control and vice system.
