Daito EVA Series Automatic Beam Assembly and Robotic Welding System
Automated beam fit-up and robotic welding in one system
The Daito EVA1300 automates beam fit-up and welding between beam processing and the finished member. A picking robot selects and places stiffeners, ribs and gussets, while a welding robot assembles and welds them to the main beam, with two servo positioners turning the work.
Programs are generated directly from CAD models such as Tekla. The system handles H200 to H1300 members from 4 to 15 m long and up to 10 tonnes.
Key features
Programmed Directly from CAD
Data from compatible structural CAD systems, including Tekla, is converted into robot instructions. Component layout does not need marking out by hand, and the robots do not need teaching point by point for each assembly.
Automatic Component Picking
A dedicated picking robot selects stiffeners, ribs and gussets from the picking table. Three magnetic grippers change automatically to suit the size and weight of each component.
Twin Servo Positioners
Two servo positioners clamp, travel, lift and rotate the main member, bringing each weld into the downhand position. The open positioner design keeps the robot working area clear across a range of member shapes.
Laser Joint Sensing
The welding robot measures each weld location with a laser sensor and corrects its position before welding. Welds follow the actual fit-up of the assembly rather than nominal model positions.
Projection-Mapped Part Placement
Projection mapping shows the operator where each component is placed on the picking table before the job runs. Product data, weld data and robot or torch interference are checked before the job reaches the cell.
More features
- Yaskawa AR1440 welding robot with three external axes
- Yaskawa GP215 picking robot
- Daihen Welbee P500L welding power source
- Two positioners with five servo axes each
Why fabricators choose Daito
- Made in Japan. Daito-Seiki designs and builds its machines in Japan, and it shows in the machining, the fit and the electrical work.
- Reliability. Daito machines are built for continuous production, with long periods between faults and less unplanned downtime over the life of the machine.
- Straightforward to run. Operators are productive in days, not weeks. The control is simple and does what the job needs.
- Built around the operator. Design decisions are made for the person running the machine, not for the brochure.

| Installation space | 22 m wide x 7 m deep x 6 m high, including the picking table |
The installation footprint is substantial and the effective member length runs 4 to 15 m, so floor layout is worth working through early. The EVA software reads directly from CAD models such as Tekla, with no manual programming. Weld process, joint library and component range need confirming for each project rather than assumed. A transformer to suit Australian three-phase supply is supplied with the machine.
Specifications are indicative and subject to change by the manufacturer without notice. Please confirm any figure critical to your application before ordering.
