Fully enclosed bevel cutting laser for weld preparation
The PB Series is a fully enclosed bevel cutting laser. It cuts the weld preparation into the part at the same time as the profile, in one pass, so plate does not go off to a bevelling machine or a grinder afterwards. For fabricators doing structural work to a welding procedure, that removes an entire handling step between cutting and welding.
Key features
Bevel and groove cutting to plus or minus 45 degrees
V, Y, X and K preparations are cut as part of the profile in a single operation. Weld prep comes off the machine finished, removing the separate grinding or machining step and the handling between them.
Thick plate cutting at 8 to 40 kW
High power gives deep penetration on heavy plate at production speed rather than a slow crawl through thickness. Cutting remains stable through the section, which is what keeps bevel geometry consistent from one end of a part to the other.
Hydraulic lifting bed
The bed raises and lowers under hydraulic control for smooth, repeatable height adjustment and stable support under heavy plate. It also brings the worktable closer to the extraction inlet, which improves fume capture.
High-rigidity frame
Bevel cutting loads the head off-axis, so frame stiffness determines whether the angle holds across the sheet. Positioning accuracy is 0.3 mm at 115 m/min and 1.2 G.
Mineral fireproof bed
The bed is built from mineral fireproof material rather than steel alone, reducing thermal distortion from sustained high-power cutting. Less movement in the bed means less drift in cut geometry through a long run, and longer slat life.
Full enclosure with integrated extraction
The cabinet contains the beam and the fume, and extraction is built into the machine rather than added afterwards. This simplifies sign-off against Australian workplace safety requirements and keeps thick-plate cutting fume out of the workshop.
